Venture Operations & Growth Lead
The Ops Lab is a founder-led venture studio. We build ventures, products and operating systems for people who are serious about shipping — and we are launching multiple products and startups of our own. This role exists because ambition outpaces execution, and someone has to own the difference.
We move at lightning speed. If that energises you rather than exhausts you, read the role properly and then apply.

The reality of the role
Read this before anything else
Speed is the job
We expect lightning speed. It is the single hardest requirement here.
Most people say they work fast. In practice they mean they work hard. We mean the gap between a decision and the first visible action is measured in hours. If you need a week to begin, this role will not work — for you or for us.
Same-day, not same-week
A decision that can be made today is made today. Requests get an answer or a date within hours, not after a reminder.
Discussion → execution in one step
A call ends with owners, dates and the first action already started. Nothing waits for a tidy plan to exist first.
Ship, measure, adjust weekly
Experiments launch in days. If a test cannot start this week, the test is too big — cut it down until it can.
Speed without sloppiness
Fast is not careless. You move quickly by reducing scope and increasing clarity, never by lowering the standard of the work.
A day in the role
Working hours are 1pm – 10pm UK time (one-hour break).
Early afternoon
Start at 1pm UK time. Review the operating board, unblock the delivery team, and confirm the one outcome that must land today.
Mid-afternoon
Client and venture calls. Capture decisions, owners and dates — then update the roadmap the same hour.
Evening
Run the live growth experiment: check the metric, read the qualitative signal, adjust or stop. Take your one-hour break around here.
Late evening
Coverage until 10pm UK time. Founder review, next-day priorities, escalate anything that will slip.
What you will actually own
Growth of The Ops Lab
Own our pipeline: segments, offers, positioning, campaigns, partnerships, referrals, outbound and selected paid channels — measured on qualified leads and revenue, not posts published.
Venture and product launches
Pressure-test ideas, design validation experiments, coordinate landing pages, prototypes and MVPs, and decide when to accelerate, reposition or stop.
Founder and client operations
Own onboarding, milestones and momentum. Turn meetings into actions with owners and dates, and chase them down professionally.
Internal operating system
Weekly plans, dashboards, SOPs, templates and practical automations that let a fast company execute consistently.
Coordination across specialists
Work with designers, developers, researchers and marketers, and hold quality across several projects at once.
Commercial judgement
Decide where money and attention go, and be able to justify it with evidence rather than preference.
